Rock The Garden: A Slide Show

Last Saturday afternoon, the big green field next to the Walker Art Center--where the Guthrie Theatre once stood--morphed into the city's biggest open-air music venue. Rock the Garden 2012, sponsored by the Walker and Minnesota Public Radio's indie-music outlet, The Current, brought in a local-music-heavy lineup of bands, and our photographer, Bill Kelley, was there to snap some great images of the crowd and three of the headliners: our own nouveau-hip-hop
Doomtree Collective, Duluth's folk-fueled
Trampled By Turtles, and
The Hold Steady, Brooklyn-based but fronted by Edina-raised Craig Finn. For details, go
